Installation
Remove the plastic molding and use a small Allen wrench for the heat and defrost control. Remove the nuts that hold the breakers in place and remove the four Phillips screws holding the panel, two on top and two on the bottom. Place the overlay, center it first, then work outward to the edges. Push slightly on the panel to fit the edges, then reinstall the screws, nuts, molding, and handles.
The throttle quadrant overlay is a simple peel-and-stick application. If you are replacing an old broken aluminum piece, remove it first, sand the aluminum plate smooth, remove the old adhesive, and carefully apply the new decal over the top.
If a UV protectant has been used on the plastic, remove it in the placard area with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. For new plastic, it is also a good idea to clean the area with isopropyl alcohol because invisible wax residue may still be present from the molding process.
As a last resort, you can use 3M 77 spray adhesive, on the back of the decal, or use a 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter on the plastic or aluminum to guarantee good adhesion.
