IAAP Commitment to Outreach

In the face of ever-unfolding global crises, extreme inequality, deep political polarization, rising authoritarianism, and the spectre of climate catastrophe, the IAAP has launched The Outreach Working Party.  This initiative represents a concerted effort to expand the boundaries of traditional Jungian psychoanalysis beyond the walls of the consulting room.

Questions & Answers

The urgency of our collective moment calls for a more organized effort to engage with the collective and to support psychoanalytically informed responses to individual and collective suffering. The mission of this Working Party is:

  • To award funding through grants to Jungian analysts, candidates and routers who engage in projects to provide Jungian-informed treatment to vulnerable individuals and groups impacted by conflict, upheaval, and disaster globally;
  • To act as a hub for communication among Jungian analysts and candidates engaged in such projects and to announce those projects in the IAAP publications;
  • To inform IAAP member institutes about the projects supported by the Outreach Working Party and to encourage IAAP member institutes to educate their members and trainees about the benefits to the collective of choosing to engage in such projects themselves.

The IAAP has allocated funding to the Outreach Working Party to directly fund member projects that align with this mission.  For examples go to: News Bulletin

The Outreach Working Party will award grants on a rolling basis to projects which meet the criteria set forth above proposed by IAAP analysts, candidates and routers.
