Medical Centre Cleaning Services in Sydney
Where Do You Need A Service?
Cleaning for GP Practices, Dental Surgeries and Allied Health Rooms
Medical centre cleaning covers consult and treatment rooms, waiting areas, reception, amenities and clinical waste zones, on a documented schedule your practice can produce at accreditation. JBN Cleaning has cleaned Sydney medical premises since 2012, using police-checked, fully insured cleaners who work around your patient hours.
What does medical centre cleaning cover?
Every zone in a practice carries a different level of risk, so each one is treated differently. This is the scope we work to across a typical Sydney medical centre.
| Zone | What is cleaned | Typical frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Consult and treatment rooms | Examination couch, bench tops, trolleys, hand-basin, light switches, door furniture, floor | Every service day |
| Waiting room and reception | Seating including arms and underside, counter, EFTPOS terminal, toys, glass, floor | Every service day |
| High-touch points throughout | Door handles, push plates, hand rails, light switches, taps, phones, keyboards | Every service day |
| Amenities and staff areas | Toilets, hand-basins, dispensers, kitchen, staff room, bins | Every service day |
| Clinical waste and sharps areas | Bin exteriors, holders and the floor beneath; bags exchanged per your contractor’s process | Every service day |
| Floors — hard surface | Vacuum, then damp mop with a fresh solution per area | Every service day |
| Floors — carpet | Vacuum every service day; hot-water extraction periodically | Daily / quarterly |
| Detail work | Skirtings, vents, window tracks, high dusting, blinds, upholstery | Monthly to quarterly |
What we do not do: we are not a licensed clinical waste contractor and we do not reprocess instruments. We clean around those systems and up to their edges — bin exteriors, holders and the floor beneath — while your waste contractor and clinical staff handle the rest.
How is cleaning a medical centre different from cleaning an office?
Three things change: colour-coded cloths and mop heads per zone so nothing travels from an amenity into a treatment room, surfaces cleaned before they are disinfected, and a written schedule with a record of what was cleaned and when.
Police-Checked Cleaners
Every cleaner assigned to a medical site holds a current National Police Check. We assign a consistent team rather than rotating unfamiliar staff through clinical space.
Fully Insured
JBN Cleaning carries full insurance covering the work performed on your premises. Certificates of currency are available to your practice manager on request.
Outside Patient Hours
Practices are cleaned early morning before opening or in the evening after the last consult. Extended and weekend hours are scheduled around your own roster.
Cleaning Sydney Since 2012
We have cleaned commercial and medical premises across Sydney since 2012, so the schedule we build for your practice comes from sites we already run, not a template.
Colour coding matters because a cloth used on an amenity and then a treatment room moves contamination rather than removing it. Cleaning before disinfecting matters because disinfectant applied over soil does very little — it is the most common fault we find when taking over a site. And the written schedule matters because your practice may have to produce it.
The other difference is who is in the building. Our cleaners work in occupied clinical space, which means patient privacy is respected, consults are not interrupted, and no equipment is moved or unplugged.
What standards does a Sydney medical practice have to meet?
- RACGP Standards for general practices (5th edition), assessed through AGPAL or QIP
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) Guidelines, referred to in meeting those criteria
- NSQHS Standards, where Standard 3 covers preventing and controlling infections
- NSW Health environmental cleaning guidance for healthcare facilities
- Safe Work Australia and SafeWork NSW for chemical handling, manual handling and SDS
JBN Cleaning does not hold these accreditations — our clients do. Our job is to clean in a way that stands up when your practice is assessed: a documented scope, a consistent team, and a record of the work performed.
How do we clean a medical practice?
Clean First, Then Disinfect
Soil is removed first, then the surface is disinfected. Disinfectant applied straight over soil does almost nothing, which is the most common fault we find when taking over a site.
Colour-Coded Equipment
Separate colour-coded cloths and mop heads are used for amenities, clinical rooms and general areas, so nothing is carried from one zone into another.
A Documented Schedule
Your site gets a written scope setting out what is cleaned, how often, and by whom — the record your practice can produce when it is assessed.
Safety Data Sheets On Request
Safety Data Sheets for every product used at your practice are provided on request. It is the document you will actually be asked for.
When do you clean, and what does it cost?
Almost all medical sites are cleaned outside patient hours — early morning before opening, or evening after the last consult. If you need a mid-day reset of the waiting room and amenities during a busy clinic, that can be scheduled as a separate short visit.
How much does medical centre cleaning cost in Sydney?
Cost depends on floor area in m², the number of consult rooms, how many days a week you need, and how much detail work is included. Rather than quote a figure that will not match your practice, we inspect the premises and price the actual scope.
