What We Do

Your time to shine!

Lights UP creates a warm, safe and inclusive space that stimulates and challenges all ages to perform, from beginners to the most experienced of performers. We enhance our students' singing, acting, improvising and dancing abilities. Our classes improve and promote confidence, concentration, teamwork and social interaction; of course, there will always be room for fun, laughter and new friends!

Scene work

Our Scene Work subject covers the foundations of acting and practice with scripts and staging. We also cover techniques such as the 'Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski techniques.

Improv

Improv is the best work for helping actors to build confidence, courage, and creativity and teaches us to trust our instincts. It helps us to stay out of our heads, listen and respond honestly. And then most of all... it is So Much Fun!

Music

Develop understanding, hearing, and performance of music of different styles. Songs and chants help to develop and reinforce reading, writing and speech skills.

Movement

We teach movement that enhances our performances, and with our dance training, we can choreograph to suit the level of each student.

Lights Up Perform was created by Broadway and West End stars Kristen Gaetz and Yvette Robinson. With over 20 years of experience in the Performing Arts, and having participated in numerous productions, our founders decided to share their skills and knowledge with children, teens, and adults. We focus on bringing out their inner confidence through improv games, drama exercises, and singing and dancing lessons.

At Lights Up Perform, we want to guide and empower our students to find the light in themselves, their own identity, and their strengths. We want to be a channel for them to flourish, all in a fun, magical, and uplifting environment.

Join us on SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15th as we mark the start of the most magical time of the Year with the famous Chelsea Christmas Light Switch on! 3 groups will perform on the main stage  @3pm at Duke Of York Square,Chelsea SW3 London.

Our daughter joined Lights Up from the very beginning, and it was an immediate hit. It is the highlight of her week. Her confidence and ability have grown hand over hand under the expert stewardship of Yvette and Kristen. They have managed to create a warm, safe and inclusive platform that stimulates and challenges children to perform, whatever their ability or experience. Whilst there is clear focus and discipline there is also ample space for fun and laughter. Parents are kept up-to-date on what’s happening and are regularly invited to come and see their children perform.

Our fave way to end a Friday? 🎉 Hanging out with our 4–7s at Early Learning @sbspprimary after school Club! 💛 When we launched this age group in September, we honestly thought jumping into imagination would be second nature for them… but in a world of constant screens and zero boredom time, it’s a muscle they’re learning to stretch again. And wow—once they tap into it, the magic happens. 🌟 We’ve loved watching these tiny improvisers stretch their imaginations (yep—even in a screen-filled world!) and come alive in class.
