🎭 We’re so excited to announce that @lightsup.perform is launching brand-new Drop-In Improv Classes at @fulham.pier this summer! ☀️ After the incredible response to our sell-out workshop last autumn, we’re thrilled to be partnering with @fulham.pier once again to bring back more of the creativity, laughter, and confidence-building that our students love. Starting Monday 9th June, our brilliant West End teachers Yvette Robinson and Iain Jones will be running six weeks of fun-filled drop-in sessions for children aged 7–12, every Tuesday from 5:00–6:00 PM. These classes are all about thinking on your feet, building confidence, making new friends, and having an amazing time in a supportive and playful environment. Teacher training days at @lightsup.perform are always so special ✨

As our company grows, we feel incredibly grateful to be surrounded by people who share the same passion and belief in what we do. We choose our teachers not only for their talent, but for the way they make children feel ,encouraged, supported, confident and seen.

Today was full of ideas, laughter and conversations about our purpose. Yes, we want to nurture talent and creativity, but more importantly, we want to help children grow in confidence and believe in themselves.

If a child leaves @lightsup.perform feeling happier, braver or stronger than when they arrived, then we’ve done our job .

We’re so proud of the brilliant women who make up our team @chloee_atkinson_ @coyleleighann @elizadanielss @justmmea and the community we’re building together 💫

@lightsup.perform teen group with Teacher @iainsky and a brand new improv game: Funeral for a Friend 🎭 Performers are given completely random song lyrics (whether they know the song or not!) and must weave them into a heartfelt funeral speech for their “dearly departed” friend. The challenge? Don’t laugh… and somehow make the lyrics work. A brilliantly chaotic game that had us all in tears (from laughter). Swipe to see one of our students giving it 100% commitment 💀🎤

We’ve just launched our kids group this summer term at #langfordprimaryschool after school club , and what a brilliant first session it was!

Our Year 2–3 students threw themselves straight in, and as you can see, our @lightsup.perform teacher, @justmmea was amazing with them, helping them find their voices.

We’re so excited to see what the rest of the term brings—their enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence are already shining through. And as you can hear… plenty of singing too! 🎶

Our after-school clubs have officially started back this week for the summer term, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Year after year, it never stops being amazing to watch these children grow in confidence. There’s something so special about being greeted with the biggest hugs as the term begins again, it really reminds us why we do what we do.

Being part of these school communities is such a privilege. Seeing confidence build, friendships flourish, and pure joy overflow in our classes is truly the most rewarding feeling.

As part of the @ntconnections season, these amazing teens brought “Animals” to life with such honesty, energy, and heart. Every moment felt alive , from the thoughtful direction by Alison and Mariela, to the powerful staging, to the courage and commitment of the cast themselves.

This is exactly why @ntconnections is so special. It gives young people a platform to tell bold stories, build confidence, collaborate, and experience what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves. It’s not just theatre ,it’s growth, community, and a chance to be heard.

Flashback to the last class of our Spring term for the Teen Group, where parents and friends joined us for our class watch.

Alongside some improvisation work, the group performed “Six” from @sixthemusical , a seriously challenging number that they tackled with huge energy, confidence and character.

They’ve worked brilliantly this term with our guest teachers @matthewshawvoice (voice) and @annawoodside alongside our incredible Co founder and choreographer @gaetzy, and the progress has been incredible to see.

They were so good that friends and family were already asking where they’ll be performing this number outside of class , because it’s something people really need to see! 👀

We’re so proud of them and can’t wait to keep building towards our mini musical of Six at the end of the summer term .

First up… our Kids’ Group! 🌟

It may be the Easter holidays, but we’re still smiling looking back at the final class of our spring term. Parents joined us for a special open class to see what the children have been working on , including their favourite improvisations, brilliant monologues and the first number we’ve been blocking from our mini summer musical of Frozen. ❄️🎭

They absolutely shone. The confidence, imagination and commitment on display was incredible, and they really nailed it. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. 👏

We can’t wait to be back in the room with them when our Summer Term begins on April 13th.

We also have two spaces left for free trial sessions next term. If your child would like to join us, send us a DM and we’ll share the details!
