Leah Reeb Varela

Partner, Director of Business Development & Marketing

Leah has worked in the private, public, and not for profit sectors in Wyoming, across the United States and internationally for the previous 17 years. She has extensive experience in the local, state, and federal government sectors, agriculture, tourism and hospitality, economic development, private business consulting, business development and marketing. Leah’s passion includes working with brands that provide a unique quality of life to their users, particularly experiences in the great State of Wyoming. Leah’s expertise includes program and organizational development and management, business and sales process best practices, event planning, marketing campaign management, public and media relations, and social media strategy and implementation.

Leah holds a B.S. in Political and Social Science. She received her Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wyoming in 2008. Leah currently serves on the Executive Board of Advance Casper.

Kerstin Ellis​

Partner, Director of Strategy, Client Service, and Operations

Kerstin has worked in the marketing and communications industries in Wyoming and Colorado for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she has worked with an array of product and service companies in the medical, construction, research, agriculture, lifestyle, property management, sport/recreation, tourism and health and beauty industries. Kerstin’s passion is working with businesses and organizations to create smart strategy that guides effective implementation.

Kerstin’s expertise includes strategy development, content writing and management, print and web design, search strategy and best practices, public and media relations, and client service.


Kerstin has a B.A. in Journalism and Communications with an Emphasis in Public Relations and Speech Communication and a Minor in English from Iowa State University. Kerstin currently serves on the Downtown Development Authority board.

Jessi Sawdon

Digital Strategist & Marketing Coordinator

Extensive work in content creation and education in web development pushed Jessi to move into the marketing and communication industry, focusing specifically on digital strategy and implementation. Jessi’s passion is working with clients to create a custom digital program that suits their needs. Jessi’s expertise includes digital strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine management (SEM), analytics measurement, web design and maintenance, content creation, media buy, and social media strategy and implementation. Jessi has an A.A. in Human Communication from Casper College and is Google Analytics certified. Jessi was a legal secretary for 15 years prior to joining the LŪM Team as Marketing Coordinator.

Jes Stanbury

Senior Account Manager

Prior to joining LŪM, Jes spent almost six years in the nonprofit sector developing and monitoring the volunteer referral/match component of ServeWyoming. Her background also includes communication instruction at the community college and University level, plus, a background in institutional communications and institutional marketing. Through these experiences, Jes developed a passion for marketing communications, design, and public relations.  Jes’ expertise includes program development and management, as well as public and media relations relations. As Account Director and Account Manager, Jes is skilled at managing a team and overseeing projects to ensure strategy and goals remain at the forefront, while also ensuring tasks are completed on time and to LŪM’s high-quality standard. She also serves as LŪM’s Public and Media Relations Specialist, providing strategy and expertise on reputation and relationship management to help ensure our client’s key stakeholders are engaged with their business or organization. Jes has a B.S. in Communication, with a Minor in Marketing Communication. She earned her M.A. in Communication from the University of Wyoming in 2011. She currently serves on the executive board for ServeWyoming.

Julie Schmitt

Senior Account Manager

Bringing together her passions for creativity and organization, Julie is dedicated to helping clients reach new heights in their marketing. In her role as Account Manager, Julie is incredibly skilled at managing projects to ensure strategy and goals remain at the forefront while also ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to LŪM’s high-quality standard.

Julie’s expertise includes program management, social media strategy, written and visual content creation, video shooting and editing, media buy management, and event planning. Prior to joining LŪM Studio, Julie was the Marketing Manager at David Street Station, where she organized 20+ community events yearly, coordinated with vendors and music acts, and managed all marketing and promotional efforts. Her background also includes experience in the non-profit and higher education sectors.

Julie has a B.S. in Mass Communications, Emphasis in Public Relations, and a Minor in Graphic Design from Saint Cloud State University. In her free time she enjoys volunteering with the Make A Wish Foundation.

Marissa Brammer

Content Manager

As Content Manager, Marissa has worked with a diverse range of LŪM clients across various industries, developing and editing creative content tailored to each clients’ area of expertise. By researching and gaining a deep understanding of each client, Marissa’s copywriting is intentional whether its creating ad campaign copy, refining website content, or creating engaging social media posts, she strives to help brands stand out through the power of words. 

With a deep knowledge of social media and user engagement, Marissa also leads many social media efforts for LŪM clients. Her unique ability to combine quality, purposeful messaging with striking visuals, including video, as well as track and analyze key metrics ensures each client’s content is seen and heard.

Marissa’s expertise includes social media management, content creation and management, editing, and professional and creative copywriting for all forms of media including social, website, print, email, media announcements, and more. Marissa has a B.S. is in Marketing from the University of Wyoming, with an additional A.S. in Business Administration from Casper College.

Todd carlson

Web Designer & Developer

Todd has been working in web development for five years, with a passion for crafting beautiful, user-centric, and pixel-perfect designs. He learned to code at the renowned Flatiron School at their Denver campus, and with a background in independent filmmaking, he brings a collaborative, creative mindset to every project he works on.

He studied film in New York City at the New York Film Academy and earned a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Critical Cinema Studies from the Metropolitan State University of Denver.

When he’s not building digital experiences, Todd can be found reading, playing guitar, or expanding his ever-growing vinyl record collection.

Ashley Hughes

Account Coordinator

Ashley has worked in the marketing and PR field for over a decade, beginning her marketing career working in newspaper advertising and design where she won multiple WPA awards for ad design. She then moved on to helping non-profits and healthcare organizations establish and grow their brands throughout Sheridan and Johnson Counties. Helping businesses find their voice and connecting them with their audiences in an effective and engaging ways is at the core of her passion. She is dedicated to combining creative problem solving, copywriting, visual designs, content creation, and utilizing measurable metrics to support LUM’s clients. 

Ashley is very involved in her community serving on the Johnson County Library Foundation Board, Buffalo Housing Authority and volunteering with The Bread of Life Food Pantry and Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends. She studied Mass Communication at Southwestern College and is currently working on her CFRE.

Brooke Montgomery

Creative Specialist and Designer

Brooke is a creative professional with over a decade of experience in graphic design and marketing. During her career, she has been involved with the University of Wyoming as a graphic designer, worked at a marketing agency in Denver, and most recently was the Director of Events and Marketing at David Street Station before joining LŪM. In all these roles, she guided successful marketing strategies, led event production and promotions, and helped elevate brands through creative design in both digital and print.

She is passionate about creating effective visual designs and helping organizations communicate their message with clarity and creativity. Whether it’s crafting eye-catching marketing materials, designing impactful logos, or developing cohesive branding strategies, Brooke thrives on bringing her clients’ visions to life. Along with design, she is also an avid photographer and is constantly exploring new techniques to capture moments in unique and imaginative ways.

Brooke holds a B.A. In Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from the University of Wyoming, and she loves getting to call Wyoming home sweet home.
