Jason Miller

Director & Culture Solution Designer
The Clearing
The Clearing

From his time in the U.S. Navy, and throughout his civilian career, Jason Miller has always believed changing things for the better for just one person will ultimately make an impact on the greater good. That belief is why he feels so at home at The Clearing, where they put people at the center of everything they do — because no change or transformation can be successful without the support of the people it affects.

Jason Miller leans into that mindset every day as the leader of The Clearing’s Culture Solution Area. They focus on transforming the values, principles, and behaviors for government and private sector clients and improve employee experience and drive better organizational results.

Prior to The Clearing, Jason developed and scaled Deloitte’s Smart Rural Communities market offering which was designed to enable rural communities to gain access to and effectively use connectivity to create new sources of value, such as improved quality of life for residents or a more sustainable, innovative, and inclusive economy.

When Jason’s not on the clock, you’ll find him playing basketball, digging into pho or tacos, and rooting on the New England Patriots. He received a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Business Administration from The Naval Postgraduate School. Go Navy. Beat Army.

The Clearing

Tara Carcillo is the CEO of The Clearing, a people-centered management consulting firm. She is also a builder, storyteller, and scientist.

As a builder, Tara’s extremely proud of what they are creating at The Clearing, pioneering a different way of thinking about and executing change and transformation efforts. As a storyteller, she promotes the success of their clients and The Clearing’s role in that. She loves when that story attracts great talent to their company. As a scientist, Tara studies how the advice they provide to the clients can best be applied to their own organization to create a rewarding experience for the team members.

On top of that, she has the privilege of digging in on what she’s most passionate about: the design of organizational development practices and their implementation into the operating and management environments in which today’s leaders must survive and thrive.

To that end, Tara has supported leaders across the Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), American Red Cross, Small Business Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Administrative Office of the Courts, and various global financial institutions.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington College and holds a Master of Arts in Whole Systems Design and Organizational Systems Renewal from Antioch University.
