Bromley Cook Engineering

NV5 acquired Bromley Cook Engineering, a leading provider of forensics, specialty structural engineering, and waterproofing to support facilities and infrastructure throughout Florida. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Bromley Cook’s engineers and inspectors have worked on the design, renovation, and preservation of some of the state’s most prestigious projects. The firm specializes in the restoration of concrete and structural building components, expert witness services for construction litigation, and the design of resilient mission critical facilities intended to remain fully serviceable after a major hurricane. As a leader in hurricane hardening, they excel in the design of facades, window and glazing systems, and building systems to withstand storm events.

Bureau Veritas

NV5 acquired Bureau Veritas’s materials testing and geotechnical business line in March 2010. The acquisition provided NV5 with a construction quality assurance platform that included key management and multiple operations and laboratories throughout Florida, California and New Jersey.  NV5 has provided construction quality assurance services on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the United States including airports, seaports, water facilities, highways, tunnels, bridges, energy and power facilities, courthouses, and universities. NV5 also provides forensic engineering services in this vertical.  Our forensic engineering team performs investigations and analyses to determine the cause or rule out possible causes of alleged building defects.   Our forensic engineers have an average of 30 years of diversified experience in design and construction as well as expertise in local and international codes and standards.

GeoDesign, Inc.

In July 2019, NV5 expanded its Pacific Northwest presence by acquiring GeoDesign, a geotechnical, geologic, environmental, pavement, and mining consulting firm headquartered in the Portland Metro area of Oregon. GeoDesign’s footprint also includes four offices in Washington and one in Southern California. Since 1997, GeoDesign has supported the design and construction of healthcare, educational, and institutional facilities; commercial and industrial developments; housing and mixed-use (mid- and high-rise) buildings; and transportation and water infrastructure. The firm offers QA/QC specialty testing of drilled shafts (Cross-Hole Sonic Logging) and driven piles (PDA testing), as well as vibration monitoring during construction. GeoDesign also has engineers versed in Performance-Based Seismic Design for very critical or high-rise structures being constructed in seismic areas, and its Oregon geotechnical lab has Electromechanical Dynamic Cyclic Simple Shear (EMDCSS) testing capabilities. GeoDesign works on all phases of development, including preliminary studies for due diligence, siting of new structures and utility and road alignments, comprehensive investigations for final geotechnical design, oversight of environmental clean-up activities, and construction observation.

GHD Group – Forensics Division

NV5 acquired the forensics engineering business of GHD Group (“GHD”) in November of 2019. The acquisition of GHD’s forensics engineering business adds 57 employees in Florida, Tennessee, and Texas who specialize in the provision of engineering, scientific investigation, litigation support, construction consulting, and estimating services to national and regional insurers for claims involving residential and commercial properties. GHD is one of the world’s leading professional services companies operating in the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation. We provide engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services to private and public sector clients. Committed to sustainable development, GHD improves the physical, natural and social environments of the many communities in which we operate.

Holdrege & Kull

NV5 acquired Holdrege & Kull, Consulting Engineers and Geologists (H&K), a geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and inspection company in May 2017. Since 1993, H&K has provided geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, materials testing and special inspection, geology, hydrogeology, and SWPPP services throughout the western United States. H&K’s professional staff include registered professional geologists, civil engineers, engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, professionals in sediment and erosion control, and qualified SWPPP designers and practitioners. They have a deep bench of qualified engineering field and laboratory technicians and their laboratories are accredited by DSA, Caltrans, CCRL, AASHTO, ASTM, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. H&K serves their public, municipal and special district, industrial, and private sector clients from five office locations in California.

Kaderabek Company

In July 2012 NV5 acquired Kaderabek Company (KACO) to further develop and strategically expand our construction quality assurance vertical. KACO was founded in Miami, Florida and specializes in the provision of geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, engineering geology and hydrogeology, drilling, construction observation, and materials testing services on sophisticated projects throughout Southern Florida and the Caribbean.  NV5’s dedicated staff of professional engineers in the construction quality assurance vertical prioritizes quality service, state-of-the-art capabilities, and project performance.

PageOne Consultants, Inc

NV5 acquired Page One Consultants in June of 2019 to expand our construction quality assurance vertical into central Florida. Page One Consultants is an Orlando-based engineering consulting firm, established in 1993. Page One specializes in Construction Management/OAR Services, Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), Construction Materials Testing & Inspection (CMT), and Building/Electrical Inspections. Their staff consists of professional engineers, CTQP/ACI-qualified inspectors, licensed electrical inspectors, and other qualified personnel. Their cross-functional training allows multi-tasking across diversified areas and their extensive experience allows them to present innovative and superior solutions to clients’ projects. Page One has a state-of-the-art full-service testing laboratory accredited by CMEC and approved by the Florida Department of Transportation. The testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt for the determination of physical properties are performed in-house. Page One is approved by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to provide Construction Materials Testing & Inspection Services and Construction Engineering & Inspection Services. Public clients include the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Turnpike Enterprise, Orange County Public Works, City of Orlando, and Orange County Public Schools.

River City Testing, Inc. (RCT)

NV5 acquired River City Testing in March of 2022 to strengthen materials testing and inspection services in Southern California. Founded in 2007, River City Testing is a provider of materials testing and special inspection services that specializes in the analysis of structural steel, concrete, and other building materials used in civil infrastructure and public sector facilities. River City Testing operates out of its materials testing laboratory in Riverside, California and specializes in testing and inspection for school board facilities in the Inland Empire Region. The addition of RCT strengthens NV5’s testing, inspection, and consulting capabilities in the region and gives NV5 a materials testing laboratory to support NV5’s engineering operations in Riverside County and San Bernardino County.

TerraTech Engineers, Inc.

NV5 acquired TerraTech Engineers, Inc. (“TerraTech”), a geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and materials testing company headquartered in North Carolina Founded in 1990, TerraTech Engineers, Inc.  services support public infrastructure and private development. The Company is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, and its 50 employees specialize in foundation support studies, pavement system investigations, retaining wall designs, earth dam design, environmental assessments, materials testing, and special inspections.

X8e-Vinyard

In June 2016, NV5 acquired the assets of X8e-Vinyard in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  With this addition, NV5 expands its professional geotechnical engineering, construction materials inspection, and laboratory testing services capabilities in the Albuquerque area.  Specialized capabilities include the include flexible and rigid pavement design for roadways and airfields, asphalt and fire-proofing materials laboratory testing and special inspection services for soils; pile and pier foundations; masonry; steel and concrete construction; cold formed metal framing; wind force resisting systems; and seismic force resisting and designated seismic systems. The depth also includes public and private clients for over 30 years of experience in New Mexico. Including notable projects such as the light aircraft runways and hangers at regional and international airports, airfield aprons and runways to support Military C-17 aircraft at Kirtland AFB, expansion of the Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, a major multi-level regional hospital, the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership and multi-year, on-call contracts for regional flood control and State of New Mexico Department of Transportation agencies.

CALYX Engineers and Consultants
In August 2018, NV5 acquired CALYX Engineers and Consultants to extend our infrastructure and environmental services across the Southeast, one of the most rapidly growing regions of the US. CALYX’s longstanding relationships with state departments of transportation in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia complement NV5’s current infrastructure services in the Northeast, Florida, and the West. Founded in 1993, CALYX is an award-winning engineering and environmental firm with over 200 professionals providing roadway and structure design, transportation planning, water resources, construction services, utility services, building structure design, land development, traffic services, cultural resources, surveying, and environmental services for both public and private clients, including state departments of transportation, municipalities, developers, higher education institutions, and healthcare systems.
CHW Professional Consultants

In January 2024 NV5 acquired CHW Professional Consultants (CHW), a leading provider of engineering and infrastructure consulting services in Florida. Founded in 1988, CHW Professional Consultants is a full-service civil consulting company headquartered in Gainesville, Florida with additional offices in Ocala, Jacksonville, and Fort Myers. For over 35 years, CHW surveyors, planners, designers, engineers, landscape architects, ecologists, and inspectors have delivered expertise to support essential infrastructure and development for the communities they serve. CHW, an NV5 company, will strengthen NV5’s ability to support infrastructure and development in the fastest-growing regions of Florida and give NV5 access to premier public and private sector clients. CHW’s technical expertise and strong leadership team deliver expanded services to our clients and enhanced drivers for accelerated organic growth throughout the state.

CivilSource, Inc.
CivilSource, Inc. (CivilSource) was acquired by NV5 in December 2016 to elevate the infrastructure platform in southern California. CivilSource, established in 2006 and located in Irvine, California, is a civil engineering consulting firm serving municipal, special district, industrial and private sector clients. CivilSource’s large public client base includes 23 of 34 cities in Orange County and 22 of 88 Los Angeles counties, geographic regions with very high barriers to entry. The firm specializes in capital improvement projects and in the provision of comprehensive design and program management services on roadway, highway, and streets projects, as well as water and wastewater, flood control, and facilities projects. The staff includes licensed engineers and architects, certified inspectors, geotechnical surveyors and experienced public works professionals.
Lochrane Engineering, Inc.
Lochrane Engineering, Inc. (Lochrane) was acquired by NV5 in May 2017 to strengthen our infrastructure services in Florida. Lochrane has provided civil engineering and surveying services to clients throughout the state of Florida since 1979. They have more than 50 professional service and support personnel offering comprehensive services in the following areas: Civil Engineering / Commercial & Residential Site Development Services; Transportation Engineering / Roadway & Drainage Design; Surveying and Mapping; Subsurface Utility Exploration; and Utility Coordination. Lochrane specializes in the provision of services on major roadway projects and its major clients include the Florida Department of Transportation and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
Nolte Associates
Nolte Associates (Nolte) became part of NV5 in August 2010 and is our primary platform for the provision of infrastructure services. Nolte was established in 1957 as a full-service engineering firm in Northern California.  NV5 offers construction management, program management, specialty, and civil engineering services to transportation authorities, energy and utility providers, infrastructure airports and seaports, water agencies, and large commercial developers. With technical and engineering expertise amassed over decades, NV5 is uniquely qualified to meet and exceed project requirements and provide higher quality, innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Pitman Hartenstein & Associates
In July 2013 NV5 acquired the Tampa, Florida based Transportation Infrastructure Engineering division of Pitman Hartenstein & Associates (PHA) to expand our infrastructure vertical in the southeastern United States. PHA Tampa has provided transportation infrastructure services to public sector clients since 1992.  NV5’s infrastructure team has worked on a wide variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including multi-lane designs on new alignment, urban multi-lane widening projects, intersection and interchange improvements, concrete pavement rehabilitation and restoration projects, and has provided supporting environmental permitting, stormwater management, and traffic operations design services on these projects.  From concept study to post-design phase services, NV5 has proven the ability to provide high quality, practical and cost effective design solutions to public transportation clients.
The RBA Group
NV5 acquired The RBA Group, Inc. in July 2015. The acquisition significantly expanded NV5’s Infrastructure vertical to capture key clients and markets in the Northeast and was the Company’s largest acquisition since 2010. The RBA Group has been providing professional engineering services to a diverse client base throughout the East Coast since 1968. RBA’s client base includes the New York City Department of Transportation, the New York City Department of Design and Construction, the New York Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the U.S. Navy, and many other local, state, and federal agencies. The Company’s portfolio of services includes highway design, structural engineering, traffic engineering and transportation planning, construction management, environmental engineering, architecture, cultural resource management, site engineering, and surveying. RBA’s commitment to quality services and products and maintenance of a strict quality assurance program drives the Group’s central goal of project completion according to client satisfaction.
WHPacific, Inc.
NV5 acquired WHPacific, Inc. (“WHPacific”), a leading provider of design engineering and surveying services in the western United States, in July of 2019. WHPacific’s 165 employees operate out of six offices serving Washington, Oregon, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona and California. WHPacific expands NV5’s capabilities in key geographies, including the Pacific Northwest, and boasts an impressive client portfolio in key market sectors including power utilities, departments of transportation and public entities. WHPacific is a full service, multidisciplinary engineering, surveying and architecture firm. For over 100 years, WHPacific teams have been highly-regarded for helping both public and private clients achieve success with their most challenging projects across WHPacific’s core service lines, including Transportation, Survey and Mapping, Facilities and Land Development Services, Water Resources, Environmental Services, Aviation, Construction Services and Industrial Facilities Engineering. WHPacific is listed in the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms list.
AK Environmental

NV5 acquired AK Environmental (AK) in March 2014 to expand our energy services client base.  AK is an inspection, construction management and environmental consulting firm that primarily provides services to natural gas pipeline companies in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast United States.  Founded in 2002, AK has become a nationally recognized technical service provider in the energy industry and is particularly well-known for its expertise in the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements for natural gas pipelines.  NV5 is expanding its reputation in the environmental services industry through AK and is uniquely positioned to benefit from the rapid growth of the shale gas industry.

Butsko Utility Design, Inc.

Butsko Utility Design, Inc. (Butsko), a leading provider of utility planning and design services, was acquired in January 2018. Since 1994, Butsko has been known as the single source for clients’ dry utility – electrical, telephone, cable television, fiber optics and natural gas – planning, management, design and engineering needs. Its team of professional engineers, designers, planners and utility systems experts combine current methodologies with new and future technology in the utility industry. They have served a variety of sectors, including master planned communities, commercial and industrial, shopping centers, corporate and commercial centers, academics, hospitality, government and state municipalities and agencies. Recent large-scale projects include Playa Vista, a Los Angeles Master Planned Community, Mid Coast Light Rail, The San Diego Bayfront Master Plan, Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, Southern California Logistics Airport, and Victorville Municipal Utility Services.

CHI Engineering Services, Inc.

On November 2018, NV5 acquired CHI Engineering Services, Inc. to expand our energy services client base. Based in Portsmouth NH, CHI Engineering provides engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to the liquefied natural gas (LNG), natural gas (NG), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industries.
Founded in 1978, CHI Engineering has become a highly respected and nationally recognized leader in the gas industry. CHI’s client base includes the majority of LNG facility owner/operators in the United States. They bring first-hand knowledge of best practices, facility components and logistics, and the latest technologies to solve clients’ complex challenges. They make a commitment to keep clients involved in the process and informed as expectations are met and exceeded. Their experience in plant design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance is unmatched within the industry.

Celtic Energy, Inc.

Celtic Energy (CEI) was acquired by NV5 on January 1, 2019. Celtic is a nationally recognized and highly respected energy consulting firm that specializes in energy project management and oversight. As one of the top energy Owner’s Representative firms in the country, Celtic Energy has performed oversight on over $2 billion in energy projects in 35 states, Washington, D.C. and abroad. Their talented and experienced team of advisors has served as Project Facilitators on Federal Energy Projects and as a 3rd Party Owner’s Representative on a multitude of State, Municipal, School, University, Medical Facility and Commercial/Industrial projects, with special expertise in the area of Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) oversight. They serve to protect their clients’ interests by maximizing the client’s ROI, and by minimizing their energy project risks. To reduce capital costs and minimize operating costs of new/remodeled facilities, CEI also offers its very effective Energy-Conscious Design Review (ECDR) services to both public and private sector clients. Additionally, CEI conducts energy audits, reviews Power Purchase Agreements, and consults on a variety of Sustainability projects, including resiliency and microgrid development projects, for just about every market sector. CEI is headquartered in CT and has offices in Nevada and the metro-NYC area.

Consilium Partners

In April 2013 NV5 acquired Consilium Partners (Consilium) to further develop our program management capabilities. Consilium is an owner’s representation and program management firm founded on the principle that program management services should be tailored to the unique demands of each project in order to deliver each client maximum value. NV5’s specialized expertise in the management of technically demanding projects and our emphasis on collaboration and coordination of leading teams in the field distinguishes us from other providers of program management services and guarantees our projects the highest level of success.

CSA Building Services Consulting Engineers (CSA)

In February 2018, NV5 acquired CSA Building Services Consulting Engineers (M&E) Ltd., a leading provider of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering and sustainability consulting services throughout Asia and the Middle East. Founded in Hong Kong in 1995, CSA has served private and public sector clients in the retail, education, healthcare, industrial, corporate, hospitality and infrastructure markets. The addition of CSA strengthens NV5’s international platform and allows us to provide engineering services seamlessly throughout these regions.

Diversified Consulting Solutions (DCS)

Diversified Consulting Solutions (DCS) was acquired by NV5 on February 21, 2023. DCS has been providing exceptional owner representation and program management consulting services since 1998. DCS becomes an extension of each client’s development team to identify facility objectives and critical success factors, assist in the selection of team members to deliver on those objectives, and guide the successful delivery of each project. The DCS team’s experience working with large groups of diverse stakeholders and project participants with significant public and governmental accountabilities is a competitive advantage, having managed more than $400 million in constructed improvements.

Energenz

In May 2017, NV5 reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Energenz, a leading global energy efficiency consultancy. NV5 previously acquired 40% of Energenz as a result of its acquisition of JBA Consulting Engineers in October 2016. Energenz helps clients around the world achieve new standards in energy efficiency and reduced operating costs at all stages of the building lifecycle. Their services deliver significant financial value to our clients at all stages of the building lifecycle through reduced operating costs. Their blue chip client base includes MGM Resorts International, HSBC, Wynn, Intercontinental Hotels, and J.P. Morgan. Together, Energenz and NV5 provide a seamless service of sustainable operation and design services.

Fulton Consulting Engineers (Fulton)

In March 2022, NV5 acquired Fulton Consulting Engineers (Fulton), a provider of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, lighting and fire protection design, and energy efficiency consulting. Fulton strengthens NV5’s MEP and technology engineering design and energy efficiency capabilities in California and the Southwest and introduces NV5 to new markets and clients. Fulton’s focus on collaboration, cutting edge technology, and responsible design delivers technical excellence and added value for its impressive client list of building owners, architects, and contractors in California and across the Southwest.

Gaudet Associates

In March of 2023 NV5 acquired Gaudet Associates to strengthen its existing owner representation capabilities. Founded in 1971, Gaudet Associates is a professional owner representation company operating out of its headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida that has managed over $2 billion in design, construction, and environmental projects. Gaudet Associates prides itself on thoroughly understanding client needs as well as the latest building trends and technologies to provide the most comprehensive and reliable service for every project.

The Hanna Group

NV5 acquired The Hanna Group (THG) in December 2016 to expand our bridge and transportation program management capabilities and strengthen our presence in California. THG provides a full range of quality and cost-effective program and construction management (PM/CM) services on public infrastructure projects. The firm’s specialty is serving federal, state and local agencies on transportation and engineering projects involving complex coordination, sensitive schedules and budget constraints. THG has assisted various local agencies over the past several years with the development and implementation of several capital projects varying in size from $1 million to over $200 million. The firm has become particularly well-known for its bridge construction management practice, which focuses on high-profile, technically challenging projects. THG’s recent construction management projects include the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and the Foresthill Bridge in the Sierra Nevada foothills, the tallest bridge in California, with a deck height of 730 feet.

Industrial Design Associates International

In January 2021, NV5 acquired Industrial Design Associates International (“IDA”), an international engineering services consulting company. Founded in 2003, Industrial Design Associates International is a building services consulting company providing building commissioning, MEP design, due diligence, and specialty consulting services for commercial and industrial facilities and data centers across Asia and Europe.  From its headquarters in Hong Kong and six field offices, IDA’s experienced professionals have delivered engineering design and commissioning services on over 300 complex projects in 18 countries.

JBA Consulting Engineers, Inc.

JBA Consulting Engineers, Inc. (JBA), a MEP engineering, acoustics, technology, and fire protection consulting firm, was acquired in October 2016 to expand and strengthen NV5’s existing energy and environmental platform. JBA adds new complementary services, increases our depth in MEP engineering, and expands our geographic footprint to Asia. Since 1966, JBA has served major public and private clients such as Hilton, Marriott, and major theme parks, as well as casinos and entertainment groups internationally, including Wynn, Caesars, MGM, Crown, Sands, Red Rock, and Hard Rock. JBA is also a Trusted Advisor to the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, and McCarran International Airport.

Joslin, Lesser & Associates, Inc.

In January 2015 NV5 acquired Joslin, Lesser & Associates, Inc. (JLA) to expand our program management vertical.  JLA is a program management firm based in Massachusetts.  For over 30 years JLA has served as owner’s representatives, acting as both agent and consultant through all phases of planning, design, construction, procurement and final occupancy. JLA’s team is comprised of architects, engineers and senior construction professionals that possess the knowledge and expertise necessary to mitigate issues that arise during planning, design, and construction of facilities.  With an in-depth understanding of owner’s representative requirements, building codes, state and local regulations and contracts administration, NV5 is becoming a leader in program management in the state of Massachusetts.

Mediatech Design Group

NV5 acquired Mediatech Design Group in July 2020 to expand its MEP design and technology capabilities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and South East Asia.  Founded in 2001, Mediatech Design Group is an award winning independent consulting firm and specializes in technology design for the built environment. Mediatech is a specialist consulting engineering firm and a recognized leader in the provision of forward-thinking technology design solutions for clients in the hospitality, retail, corporate, government, education, and sport sectors.

Mendoza & Associates

NV5 acquired Mendoza & Associates in April 2015 to expand its presence with public transportation infrastructure clients in California and to provide additional resources to its Civil Program Management business line. For 20 years, Mendoza & Associates has provided program management, construction management, engineering services and claims support on infrastructure projects throughout California such as freeway Interchanges, Airport Projects, and Grade Separations. NV5’s civil program management clients include Caltrans and numerous Counties, Cities and transportation authorities statewide.

Optimal Energy, Inc.

NV5 acquired Optimal Energy in December 2021 to provide another specialized, high barrier to entry capability to differentiate NV5 and deliver value to our clients. Optimal is an energy efficiency firm providing a full range of consulting services to government agencies, utilities, regulatory bodies, and state energy advisory councils. Optimal specializes in advising state energy efficiency advisory councils on program planning, cost-benefit analysis, and strategic guidance. The Company also assists utilities with integrating statewide and local energy efficiency mandates into their business models. Founded in 1996, Optimal’s clientele includes utilities, consumer and environmental advocates, government and regulatory agencies, and energy service providers.

Owner’s Representative Services, Inc. 

In June 2014, NV5 acquired Owner’s Representative Services, Inc. (ORSI) to expand our program management capabilities in the healthcare industry.   ORSI provides program management and owner’s representation services to healthcare clients throughout their capital improvement and construction projects by utilizing value-added processes for enhanced control of project delivery. Since its inception 1994, ORSI has provided over $2 billion worth of program management services on hospital and healthcare capital improvement projects throughout the Unites States.

Richard D. Kimball Company, Inc. (RDK Engineers)

The acquisition of RDK in June 2017 makes NV5 one of the largest MEP engineering firms in the U.S. and allows for immediate cross-selling opportunities within our existing network of offices. Founded in 1897, RDK is an established leader in the provision of energy efficiency and MEP services. Based in Boston, RDK’s 185 employees operate out of five strategic office locations on the East Coast. In addition to mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and fire protection services, RDK offers commissioning services, technology design services, and energy and sustainability services, including Whole Building Energy Modeling and ASHRAE Level Energy Audits, Green Building Certification, Energy Code Consulting, Carbon Emissions Management, and Renewable Energy Management. RDK primarily serves commercial, healthcare, science and technology, education, government, and transportation clients.

In August 2021 NV5 acquired Sage Energy Consulting, Inc. (“Sage Energy”). In 2005, David Williard founded Sustainergy Systems in rural Marin County to help local ranches and businesses reduce energy costs and make the switch to renewables. In 2009, David was joined by his brother, Tom Williard, a software engineer and local school board member, and Brent Johnson, a civil engineer with a background in water and environmental engineering, to form Sage Renewable Energy Consulting. By 2014, Sage had established itself as a leading project management and energy consulting firm for California businesses, public agencies, and school districts. Our team has evaluated and managed hundreds of clean energy projects. Other professional services firms—financial advisors, architects, construction managers, and legal teams—also turn to Sage for auditing and due diligence of energy projects. For well over a decade, Sage Energy has been at the forefront of decarbonization, leading over $2 billion in energy projects that have resulted in over $350 million in energy savings – including the largest contracted commitment to solar power by a school district in North America.

Sebesta

NV5 acquired Sebesta in February 2016 to diversify NV5’s service offerings and provide a scalable platform for growth in the energy vertical by bringing NV5 into new geographic areas and introducing NV5 to Sebesta’s large client base. Sebesta is a nationally-recognized MEP engineering (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and energy management company that provides full-service engineering, energy performance, commissioning and sustainability services.  Through the expertise of its technical professionals, Sebesta has created smart and sustainable facility solutions for all types of clients, including federal and state governments as well as education, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and electric utility companies. From master planning to design, implementation, and optimization strategies, Sebesta consistently improves the effectiveness and operation of facilities for its clients.  Some of Sebesta’s federal clients include the U.S. Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Veterans Affairs, the Air National Guard, and the U.S. Navy. Sebesta was awarded the retro-commissioning of the long-term renovation project at the Pentagon that resulted in LEED certification for the six million square foot building.

The Sextant Group, Inc.

The Sextant Group was acquired by NV5 in March 2019 to meaningfully differentiate its MEP design offerings and expand technology design services. Delivered from over a dozen locations across the United States, planning and design specialties now include audiovisual and information technologies, building security, acoustics & noise control, technical lighting, theatre systems, faculty development, and intelligent buildings. The national independent consulting firm’s team of over 80 experienced and highly-certified technical specialists provides owners and architects throughout North America with innovative and effective technology solutions for collaboration, presentation, communication, healing, and entertainment spaces. Markets served include higher education, healthcare, corporate, government, performing arts, libraries, and sports & recreation.

Technical Design Services, Inc.

In November 2023, NV5 successfully acquired Technical Design Services, Inc. (TDSi), marking a strategic move to enhance its capabilities in two rapidly expanding sectors – the domestic data center and technology design industry. TDSi brings specialized expertise in designing, integrating, and implementing data center solutions, along with technology, audio-visual, security, and telecommunications systems. This acquisition further positions NV5 to assist clients in meeting their evolving data communications infrastructure needs.

Established in 1999, TDSi has been a prominent player in the industry, with its headquarters located in Chicago. The company’s dedicated team of professionals has been instrumental in delivering cutting-edge data and communication solutions to a diverse client base, including aviation, government, financial, and healthcare sectors. The acquisition of TDSi reinforces NV5’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and meeting the dynamic demands of its clients.

Zollinger Buric, Inc. and Buric Global, LLC

NV5 acquired Zollinger Buric and Buric Global (Buric) in November 2014.  The acquisition of Buric expanded NV5’s program management and litigation support capabilities.  Buric assists its clients in the successful navigation of the challenging, complex and expensive construction process. Buric’s program management division utilizes web-based, real-time information to identify and eradicate problems before they occur in the field and applies its projects controls and owner’s representative expertise to the delivery of projects on time, on budget and without claims or litigation. This proactive method eliminates conflicts, maximizes efficiencies and reduces risk for all involved parties – saving owners up to 20%, compared to traditional approaches. Buric’s construction litigation assignments enable clients to accurately assess and identify the source of construction-related problems, and help clients recoup their losses in the areas of project controls, project delivery, labor productivity, critical path method scheduling, claims and cost analyses.

Air Quality Consulting

In January of 2014 NV5 acquired Air Quality Consulting, Inc. (AQC) to further expand our environmental services vertical. AQC provides industrial and commercial facilities occupational health safety and environmental (OHSE) services related to indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety and litigation support.  Since AQC was founded in 1999, the company’s value oriented approach has enabled it to provide consulting services on thousands of projects for public and private clients in 48 states, as well as in Canada and the Caribbean.

Allwyn Environmental

NV5 acquired certain assets of Allwyn Environmental in June 2015 to expand our energy, construction quality assurance, and environmental services vertical. In addition to adding key personnel and service capabilities, the acquisition provided NV5 an avenue to enter the nuclear safety quality assurance business. Allwyn is an Arizona-based environmental and engineering firm founded in 2004 that provides innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective technical and environmental engineering solutions to a wide range of public and private clients throughout the Western United States in the energy, mining, commercial/industrial facilities, and federal and local governmental markets. Allwyn’s staff is comprised of licensed professional engineers, geologists and environmental scientists with over 250 years of combined industry experience.

Alta Environmental

In May 2019, NV5 acquired Alta Environmental to expand and grow our environmental vertical. Alta is a professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions firm specializing in water resources, air quality, environmental building sciences, site assessment and remediation, litigation support, as well as environmental health and safety compliance services. Alta provides technical solutions and compliance to small and large municipalities, major manufacturers, large retail chains, airports, aerospace clients and education institutions. Alta’s notable projects include Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) environmental compliance support, environmental construction management compliance oversight at the largest industrial hazardous waste demolition and cleanup in California, stormwater compliance assessment and special studies in the City and County of San Diego, and environmental support for the nation’s largest grocery chain. Alta has specialized capabilities in low flow monitoring and has developed an IOT smart watershed network monitoring system with real-time alert capabilities to meet the Clean Water Act requirements for NV5 clients.

Bock & Clark Corporation

In April 2017, NV5 acquired Bock & Clark Corporation (“Bock & Clark”), a national commercial real estate due diligence firm, to bring us into new geographies where we foresee considerable growth. The acquisition will enhance cross-selling opportunities between our infrastructure, engineering, surveying, and program management groups to better serve our financial and transactional real estate clients. Founded in 1973, Bock & Clark is a leading national provider of commercial real estate due diligence services. With offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Oklahoma, California, Colorado and Rhode Island, Bock & Clark serves clients in all 50 states and Canada in the following capacities: ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, aerial surveys, zoning reports and letters, Phase I and II ESAs and Property Condition Assessments. Bock & Clark’s clients include national law firms, financial institutions, REITs, corporations, and title companies.

Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc.

In May 2016, NV5 acquired Dade Moeller & Associates (Dade Moeller) to be a part of the Environmental Health Sciences business line. This addition also increases growth in the federal and energy sectors. Founded in 1994, Dade Moeller specializes in the provision of radiation protection, nuclear safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, and laboratory quality assurance services. Dade Moeller & Associates also maintains a robust radiation and occupational safety training academy. The firm employs Certified Health Physicists, Certified Industrial Hygienists, Certified Safety Professionals, Fire Protection Engineers, and qualified environmental and drinking water Laboratory Assessors. Notable clients include the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; Department of Energy National Laboratories and Legacy Remediation Sites, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Dunn Environmental

NV5 acquired Dunn Environmental in August 2013 to cultivate our environmental services vertical in Northern California.  Founded in 2004, Dunn Environmental specializes in environmental and water resource projects. The experts at Dunn Environmental have extensive experience with both private and public sector clients and possess broad knowledge of ground water monitoring protocols, statistical database analyses, quality assurance, and quality control plans for environmental and water resource programs. Key strengths of the Dunn Environmental team include delivering services on time and within budget while developing and implementing approaches that are technically sound. Dunn provides professional services that inform the preparation of defendable monitoring and investigation programs using phased conceptual-model approaches to address state, federal and local requirements. NV5’s mission is to provide high quality and efficient project management and consulting services while employing an original approach.

In December of 2021, NV5 acquired Global Realty Services Group LLC (GRS), a leader in real estate due diligence and transaction services providing property condition assessments, environmental assessments, seismic risk assessments, construction advisory, green assessments, ALTA surveys and zoning services for commercial real estate transactions. GRS is one of the leading providers of due diligence services and serves commercial mortgage lenders, government-sponsored enterprise agencies, insurance companies, real estate investment trusts, and loan originators. Marron and Associates

NV5 acquired Marron and Associates (Marron) in September 2017. Founded more than 20 years ago in New Mexico, Marron is committed to the successful completion of its clients’ projects by delivering excellent, consistent, and reliable environmental services. The firm offers a wide range of services within its Environmental Science and Planning, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, GIS, and MS4 Permitting Programs. Marron’s clients include the public and private sectors as well as tribal entities across the state. Marron has obtained environmental services and subsequent clearances for a variety of projects including airports, bridges, commercial and industrial property transactions, communication towers, fiber optic lines, highway and public utilities corridors, land transfers, oil and gas pipelines, ports of entry, schools, solar and wind farms, transmission lines, and water and wastewater treatment plants.

PES Environmental, Inc.

NV5 acquired PES Environmental, Inc. (“PES Environmental”) in May 2021. Founded in 1989, PES Environmental’s 56 engineers and environmental scientists help public and private sector clients meet their environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability goals. PES Environmental, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary environmental engineering and consulting firm. For over 30 years, PES Environmental’s experienced environmental engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and consultants have helped public and private sector clients achieve regulatory compliance and meet their environmental and sustainability goals.

Weir Environmental

In September 2016 NV5 acquired Weir Environmental (Weir), a Louisiana-based full-service industrial hygiene and environmental consulting firm serving a wide range of clients in 14 states. Weir’s professionals have been first responders to Hurricanes Katrina, Gustav, Ike, Irene, Isaac, and Sandy, in addition to other major flooding events and tornadoes, and continue to provide cleanup, restoration, and property loss consulting services to many of the affected areas. Their clients include local, state and federal municipalities and institutions; insurance, real estate, financial and banking institutions; universities and schools; energy and oil industries; and retail/commercial businesses. Weir’s reputation for responsible project management and oversight, professionalism, and integrity, combined with a genuine concern for its clients’ interests and safety, is key to the firm’s success.

L3Harris Technologies, Inc.’s Visual Information Solutions

In April 2023, NV5 closed on its acquisition of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.’s Visual Information Solutions commercial geospatial technology and software business (VIS). This acquisition supports NV5’s expansion in a subscription-based geospatial product and service model and strengthens its role in supporting the nation’s defense and intelligence communities through geospatial information management and analytics. The VIS acquisition includes 16 U.S. Patents for geospatial data analytics and ownership of an additional 13 U.S. and non-U.S. Trademark Registrations for leading geospatial software applications with approximately 500,000 global users, including prominent applications such as ENVI, IDL, Jagwire, Amplify, and Helios, which are relied upon by the United States Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies for the analysis and management of geospatial data.

Axim Geospatial

In February of 2023 NV5 acquired Axim Geospatial (“Axim”) to expand its capabilities in the federal defense and intelligence sectors and strengthens NV5’s leadership position in geospatial utility solutions. Axim uses its geospatial expertise to provide clarity and solutions to help customers solve the world’s national security, infrastructure, and environmental problems. Axim provides end-to-end geospatial services and solutions throughout the U.S. through core competencies that include big data services, geomatics, business solutions, cloud services, infrastructure security, analytics, and professional services. Axim serves customers in the national, state, and local government, defense and intelligence, infrastructure, energy, commercial, and environmental sectors.

GEO1

In June 2022, NV5 acquired GEO1, a leading provider of geospatial lidar, aerial imagery, and data analytics solutions to utilities, government agencies, and the environmental sector.   Headquartered in Hawthorne, California, GEO1’s 25 employees are dedicated to geospatial analytics, data science, and aerial remote sensing.  Founded in 2014, the award-winning GEO1 team enables creative vision through use of the newest lidar and imaging sensors. Geo1’s skilled operators uniquely configure each acquisition project to provide lidar and imagery that serves individual client needs. Its geospatial analysts are capable of providing a diverse range of data processing and analytic solutions, which include vegetation encroachment analysis, creating 3-dimensional digital models, colorized point clouds, and annotated datasets.

Geodynamics LLC

In March 2021, NV5 acquired Geodynamics LLC (“Geodynamics”), a provider of sonar-based, deep-water geospatial solutions. Founded in 2001, Geodynamics LLC is a marine geology and coastal science consulting firm specializing in bathymetric and geophysical mapping, monitoring, and geospatial analyses. Using cutting-edge technologies and highly qualified staff, Geodynamics provides meticulous data products to support clients’ multi-disciplinary needs.

Quantum Spatial, Inc (QSI)

In December 2019, NV5 acquired Quantum Spatial, Inc., the nation’s largest independent geospatial data firm. QSI provides geographic insights to the largest government and corporate organizations that need geospatial intelligence to mitigate risk, plan for growth, better manage resources, and advance scientific understanding. A pioneer in advanced mapping technology, Quantum Spatial’s end-to-end solutions and services deliver the industry’s highest data quality and accuracy, while leveraging the widest array of technologies for analyzing all types of terrains. Customers use the Company’s acquisition, processing, analytics, and visualization solutions in a range of technical and scientific disciplines – from geology and biology, to hydrology, forestry, and civil engineering. Utilities, oil and gas producers, engineering, and construction firms, as well as the military and major government agencies, are Quantum Spatial customers. Quantum Spatial has multiple offices around the country.

Skyscene

In December 2017, NV5 acquired Skyscene, LLC  (“Skyscene”), a leading provider of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flight services headquartered in San Diego, California. The aerial survey and mapping company operates fixed wing and multirotor UAV’s while carrying the most advanced remote sensing equipment. They can cover thousands of acres a day providing 2D Orthomosaics, Contour Maps, 3D Densified Pointclouds, as well as having the ability to calculate all volumetrics on the property such as cut, fill, and total volume. These metrics are far greater than traditional ground survey because they can place an XYZ coordinate on every inch of the property getting an extremely accurate measurement. Integrating NV5’s LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) mapping technology with Skyscene’s UAV flight services positions NV5 as one of the leading UAV LiDAR aerial mapping service providers in the nation. Traditionally provided with fixed wing aircraft or helicopters, the use of UAV LiDAR adds value to our clients by providing higher resolution mapping, rapid mobilization, and more cost-effective services than can be achieved using manned aerial vehicles or traditional survey methods.Empty heading
