MARIOS MATAMBA

1 – Hi, my name is Marios Matamba, also known as Champion Badin. I am a professional Congolese boxer residing in South Africa, specifically in the city of Cape Town.
Professional career: 2× African Champion, holder of 2 international titles (WBO and IBF), with a record of 13 victories including 10 by KO and 2 losses by points.

2 – I’ve had a tough and inspiring journey since my home country, Congo-Brazzaville. In my amateur career, I was 3 times Champion of the city of Brazzaville, 2 times Champion of Congo, and several times Champion in different cities across Congo-Brazzaville. I was also part of the national boxing team to represent the country at the 2015 African Games held in Congo-Brazzaville . After the 2015 African Games, I decided to travel to South Africa to begin a professional career.
Today, I’ve been living in South Africa for 10 years and have been a professional boxer for 9 years. But in the beginning, it was really hard.
I faced a lot of financial difficulties and instability. In 2017, I received my professional boxing license and started modeling as a second career. I never gave up — I always fought for my dreams in boxing.
I had tough fights, won victories, and also lost 2 times by judges’ decision.

3 – At the beginning of 2025, Baris Erdogan, founder of Tunal Academy, reached out to me by writing on Instagram and offered me to sign with Tunal Academy. We talked quite a lot and eventually I decided to accept and work with the great team of Tunal Academy because my vision is to become World Champion and earn a living through boxing. To reach the top, I need a great team like Tunal Academy.

4 – My goals are success, and my dream is to become World Champion and bring honor to my family and my country, Congo.
