Enterprise capabilities for a regional wine estate

The food and beverage industry is a fast moving, competitive one. Warwick Estate’s beautiful vineyards, cellars, restaurant and picnic area is part of the Stellenbosch Winelands. They needed a communication and data technology system that would allow for ease of use but using an ISP email solution was making this difficult. The estate’s location outside of Stellenbosch, meant that their options for internet connectivity was limited. But Crimson Line assured them, limited connectivity didn’t need to keep them out of the cloud.

Operating from multiple showrooms nationwide, logistics became a nightmare when stock levels couldn’t be monitored accurately in real-time. Azure was selected to take their new ERP system to the cloud and has resulted in significant CapEx savings. Training of end users to drive adoption has resulted in successful use of cloud technology.

Digimune is a cloud-based platform that provides next-generation digital risk protection. Digimune safeguards businesses from digital threats across all publicly available platforms. The infrastructure environment on which the application ran, needed to be secure, considering the nature of Digimune’s business model. Hosting in Microsoft Azure’s South African DCs was the best solution to meet their rigorous security standards.

AZURE over AWS for South Africa’s best daily deals site

During 2020, this leading e-tailer saw phenomenal growth of over 40% from the previous comparative period. They were hosting their infrastructure at a local DC. But the increase in demand was creating problems. Predicting what demand you could have is difficult when you host your infrastructure on-prem but is easy to overcome when you use Microsoft Azure. Crimson Line took OneDayOnly.co.za from on-prem to Azure during 2021 resulting in a stress-free 2021 Black Friday.
