Airflow – The unique ribbed pedestal construction, adds strength and stops the crop from blocking the perforations, allowing equal airflow throughout the base of the pedestal. The large, longer internal slots ensure maximum ventilation for stored crops, maintaining equal air distribution.
Why is only the bottom section of the Pedestal slotted? Moving air will always follow the path of least resistance. When sucking air out of grain (fans positioned on top of the Polycool pedestal) if the entire pedestal were slotted, most of the air would be drawn from the immediate vicinity of the top metre of extension pipe. Having the base section slotted forces air to be drawn across the lower section of the grain and a much wider area.
Tests have proven Polycool allows fans to run at maximum performance, both sucking and blowing into the pedestal.

Strength – Plastic pedestals are manufactured using food grade. virgin polymer for added strength, constructed with twin wall plastic. They are much stronger than metal pedestals. They can be hit with a grain bucket and unlike their metal equivalent, will not damage equally. When stores are being emptied, loader drivers can dig the unit out quickly, without the risk of damage.
