💥 TriggerTone Return With Defiant New EP "Bombs Away" This October: Anti-War Title Track And Music Video Out Now
Belfast alt-heavy rock trio Triggertone have announced their new 4-track EP, "Bombs Away," set for release on 2nd October 2026.
The band have also released the anti-war title track, “Bombs Away,” alongside its official music video, offering the first full statement from their newly solidified three-piece lineup and capturing their raw, live-tested energy with renewed focus and intent.
Recorded at Manor Park Studio with renowned producer Neal Calderwood, whose credits include The Answer, Fighting With Fire, Mojo Fury, LaFaro and General Fiasco, Bombs Away documents a band turning heavy riffs, melodic hooks and real-world frustration into a concentrated, defiant body of work.
For an outfit that has steadily earned respect across the competitive Irish alternative circuit, including national radio play and a semi-final place in Bloodstock’s Metal 2 the Masses, the new EP feels less like a standard release and more like a clear validation of Triggertone’s purpose.
Conceptually, "Bombs Away" is an honest exercise in collective identity, mapping personal psychological struggles alongside the intense frustrations of a changing global environment. Across four tracks, the EP moves through anti-authoritarian pressure, narrative suspense, depression, self-worth and anti-war defiance.
At their core, Triggertone remain dedicated to the true essence of garage rock music: melody, lyrics and the raw humanity of a band playing together in a room. In a landscape of rigid sub-genres and the rise of AI, the trio offer something direct and human: an immediate rock sound built to bring human beings together.
As they push forward with fresh momentum into 2026 and beyond, Triggertone prove that whatever troubles surround you, there is still a sanctuary of sound to be found within the maelstrom.
'Bombs Away' is released 2nd October 2026.

🎸 Why Does Good Music Still Get Ignored?
🤔 The uncomfortable truth
I speak to a lot of good bands who are frustrated and wondering why their music isn't cutting through.
Here's the truth: your release isn't just competing with other songs. It's competing with other release systems. Press, radio, playlisters and reviewers are overwhelmed with pitches — many from artists who already have a label, PR team, ad spend and an engaged fanbase behind them.
That doesn't make your music less valid. But it does mean good music on its own is rarely enough anymore.
🎯 The bit that hurts
Months of work. Finished songs, artwork, the announcement — a few likes, one review, then silence.
That silence is brutal, because to the band it's never "just content." It's rehearsals, money, arguments over mixes and hope. The internet just scrolls past it.
So bands think: "we need more exposure." More press, more ads, more playlists.
But exposure only helps when there's something for that attention to connect to.
🧠 The pressure is real
Artists are already stretched thin — writing, rehearsing, gigging, posting, selling merch, on top of jobs and normal life. Then they're told to post more, film more, be more "consistent."
It used to be hard in a different way — songs, shows, getting better. Now musicians are expected to be content creators, ad managers and email marketers too. That takes a toll, and every quiet release can start to feel like proof nobody cares. That's a dangerous place to create from.
⚖️ Business has to be fair
Everyone in this industry has bills to pay — studios, PR, venues, labels, platforms. Fair enough.
But it shouldn't cost bands their confidence or mental health. Nobody should feel worthless because one release went quiet, or feel pushed to spend more because they've been told exposure is the only answer.
🔗 The missing middle
The real question isn't "how do we get seen?" It's "what happens when people do see us?"
Someone can like a song and still vanish — that's not always the music's fault. Often there's just no route for them to move closer: no reason to follow, join the list, or come back.
A Facebook post isn't a campaign. A YouTube link isn't fan demand. Promoters and festivals want more than "is it decent?": they want story, movement, and visible proof people care. That's just the reality of a crowded market.
💡 Trust beats panic
Bands often jump straight to "stream this," "review this," "book us." But most people aren't ready yet.
They need to see the band more than once, understand who you are, feel the energy, recognise the name next time. That's not hype, that's trust, and trust comes from repeated contact: a rehearsal clip, a story, an honest post, a physical release worth owning.
A comment from outside your circle, a fan tagging a mate, someone joining the list or buying a shirt: that's not vanity. That's the music moving beyond friends and family.
🛠️ The better route
This is where direct-to-fan matters: not as a buzzword, but as a route. A way for someone to discover you, recognise you, and eventually back something meaningful: a signed CD, limited vinyl, a bundle, a ticket.
It doesn't make the industry easy. But it gives the effort somewhere to go. Instead of chasing attention that disappears, you start collecting connection — names on a list, real replies, returning fans. That protects morale as much as revenue.
✅ Final thought
Good music is STILL the foundation that hasn't changed. What's changed is the environment around it: overwhelmed media, distracted audiences, other artists with teams and budgets already in place.
That can make good bands feel invisible, and make musicians question their worth when the real issue is often the lack of a route, not the music.
A better route gives you something you can actually control: your audience, your list, your offers, your relationship with fans.
That's not just better marketing. It's a healthier way to build momentum because the goal isn't to be seen once.
It's to be remembered and emotionally connect after the algorithm's moved on.

🗣️🔥 Band of the Day : Metasoma at Maximum Volume Music 🥁🎸
London’s Metasoma have shed their hard-rock veneer to emerge as a lethal, technical heavy metal machine. Their upcoming new EP, "Core," (released this August) marks the first statement from a solidified international unit, pitting British rhythmic weight against the uncompromising metal heritage of the Polish and Romanian underground.
To anchor this pivot, the quintet enlisted Filip Halucha (Heinrich House Studio)—the engineer behind the tectonic sounds of Behemoth and Vader—to helm the lead single, "Downfall." The remaining tracks, produced by Dawid Konrad Rydz, capture a band operating at a new level of surgical precision. Together, they have forged a sound that fuses Alter Bridge’s melodic craftsmanship with the unyielding, rhythmic brutality and groove of Pantera.
