Lights UP creates a warm, safe and inclusive space that stimulates and challenges all ages to perform, from beginners to the most experienced of performers. We enhance our students' singing, acting, improvising and dancing abilities. Our classes improve and promote confidence, concentration, teamwork and social interaction; of course, there will always be room for fun, laughter and new friends!

Scene work

Our Scene Work subject covers the foundations of acting and practice with scripts and staging. We also cover techniques such as the 'Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski techniques.

Improv

Improv is the best work for helping actors to build confidence, courage, and creativity and teaches us to trust our instincts. It helps us to stay out of our heads, listen and respond honestly. And then most of all... it is So Much Fun!

Music

Develop understanding, hearing, and performance of music of different styles. Songs and chants help to develop and reinforce reading, writing and speech skills.

About Us

Lights Up Perform was created by Broadway and West End stars Kristen Gaetz and Yvette Robinson. With over 20 years of experience in the Performing Arts, and having participated in numerous productions, our founders decided to share their skills and knowledge with children, teens, and adults. We focus on bringing out their inner confidence through improv games, drama exercises, and singing and dancing lessons.

At Lights Up Perform, we want to guide and empower our students to find the light in themselves, their own identity, and their strengths. We want to be a channel for them to flourish, all in a fun, magical, and uplifting environment.

About Us

Over 20 Years Of Experience In The Performing Arts

Lights Up! Perform was created by West End and Broadway performers Kristen Gaetz and Yvette Robinson, who bring over 30 years of combined professional experience — and continue to work in the industry today.

Our approach is built on improvisation. It’s the foundation of everything we do, developing confidence, creativity, and connection before expanding into acting, singing, and movement. Alongside our core training, we regularly welcome West End performers and industry professionals to lead masterclasses and share real-world insight.

Above all, Lights Up! Perform is about helping young people find their light — their confidence, individuality, and voice. In a fun, supportive environment, students gain skills that stay with them for life, both on and off the stage.

ONE SESSION ONLY

We’re thrilled to welcome Stephen Guarino — internationally renowned actor, improviser, and teacher — for a special one-off improv workshop this half-term.

Stephen is best known for his roles in Happy Endings, I’m Dying Up Here, and his three-time Emmy-nominated performance in Netflix’s EastSiders. Most recently, he starred in the West End hit Titanique (2025 Olivier Award winner). Stephen is also a highly sought-after improv teacher in New York, with years of experience performing and teaching at the highest level.

This fast-paced, confidence-boosting two-hour workshop is a rare opportunity to train with a true industry professional.

Whilst there is clear focus and discipline there is also ample space for fun and laughter.   • HALF-TERM IMPROV WORKSHOP – PART TWO 🎭✨ (Teen Group) What an absolute JOY this was to witness. @stephendguarino had an absolute ball, and so did the teens. Watching them access their creativity so freely again, without getting stuck in their heads, was just brilliant. At this age especially, it’s so important to keep doing work like improvisation ,to stay fresh, alive and responsive. The moment they stop overthinking and stop getting too cerebral? That’s when the magic happens. @stephendguarino was on fire. His quick thinking, the challenges he threw at them, the layers he built into each exercise ,he really kept them on their toes. And they rose to it. Every single time. It was hysterical. Bold. Fearless. So much talent just oozing out of these teenagers. To see them so open, so free, so funny, it was an absolute privilege. And the best part? We love collaborating in community driven spaces like @fulham.pier that truly support local creatives and small companies like us. It’s been such a joy to see our co-founder and teacher, @yvette_robinson_ , so at home with our Early Years after-school clubs we launched last term . Her love for working with younger children has been there from the very beginning, shaped through her training and her early teaching experiences with babies through @monkeymusicchelseawestminster .
